Air Tightness Testing
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”1167″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Air Tightness refers to how resistant your building is to heat loss through air leakage. Air leakage can lead to heat loss, mould, drafts and noise pollution.
To find out how air tight your home is a simple Air Tightness Test or ‘blower door test’ can be carried out, whereby a fan is mounted to an exterior door, blowing air into the building and increasing the air pressure in the house.
The building is pressurised and the air flow measured, indicating the air tightness of the building. Carrying out a blower door test during construction will identify leaks which can be sealed to ensure that the building is air tight.
Once air leaks have been identified they can be sealed using the latest tapes, glues and seals. This ensures that the insulation performs to its optimum performance, giving you an air tight, energy efficient home.
Advantages of Airtightness
– Save money on heating bills
– Avoid Mould
– Stop drafts
– Lock out odours
– Minimise noise
– Increase the value of your home[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
